Family Relations & Legacy Part 1: Slavery Of Debt  II Kings 4:1-7 NKJV Slavery of Debts Proverbs 22:7 NKJV Everyone who borrows money is often doing it with the idea of being in advantage. Most wealthy and rich people don’t borrow money because they have a lot. Most poor people don’t borrow money because they can’t afford paying it back. However middle class people are the ones who are making more and more debts. Proverbs 22:26-27 NKJV The end game for debts is bankruptcy and repossession of assets and property. Sad realities about middle class: Rich people are likely to be more rich and end up wealthy. Poor people know they are poor and often fight to get out of poverty and be rich. When they become rich they do their best to not go back to poverty. Middle class thinks that they are rich and they often sustain that lifestyle with more debts. The reverse of this is also possible some people don’t mind staying where they are or even regress back to poverty. Some rich people do also end up poor. Some middle class do get richer. Debts Effects on Family Relations Most fights in marriages starts with arguments about money. Financial problems is one of the main factors in divorce. Poor communication about the state of finances. Unrealistic expectations and overwhelming financial commitments. Stress of how to get out of debts that ends up in blame culture. Lack of fun as results of hearts being broken with arguments and fights. Looking elsewhere for comfort and peace ending up in infidelity. Financial pressure such that the only thing you pray for is financial breakthrough. Where are you God? Meaning where is the money God? End up saying, “this thing of believing in God doesn’t work” because of lack of money, you have backslide to unbelief. II Kings 4:1 NKJV A prophet is dead and he was a faithful servant of God. Now we have 2 problems death and debts that are left behind. Proverbs 13:22 NKJV Serving God and ignoring our financial stability is not biblical. A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children. We need to build a Family Legacy for our great grandchildren. Whatever we commit to do today will affect their tomorrow. Wouldn’t it be nice for them to say this big hotel was built by my great grandfather. How to get out of debts Preaching about money in church? I’d rather preach about money in church than to have the congratulation that is struggling financially because of no teachings about money. A long alter call lines of problems we can solve by applying correct principles. Income must be greater than your expenses. Have assets and aggressively invest in them Mind your own business, stop wasting your energy in other people’s business. I Thessalonians 4:11 NKJV People who are in other peoples business tends to neglect their own personal lives and relationships. Use your hands, do something productive. Borrow assets for good reasons. Borrow Mfundisi? Yes go borrow more vessels  II Kings 4:3 NKJV The man of God said go and borrow money to buy assets that will generate more money. Use the money to pay off your debts. The money you were paying debts with must be invested in more cash generating assets. II Kings 4:7 NKJV Sales don’t invest in the assets that you can’t sell. Sales is what brings in revenue. Be careful where you invest your money, if not you will lose everything including your own investments. Don’t invest your money in get rich quick schemes. Conclusion: Romans 13:8 NKJV The only thing we should owe people is love and forgiveness. Paying for services is essential but paying for debts and creating more will keep you enslaved. II Corinthians 8:9 NKJV Jesus came through a normal family in Bethlehem. Jesus wants us to leave in freedom from all kind of oppression. He wants our spirit to be free. He wants our minds to be free from every addiction. Our soul to be free from sin and have eternal life. Our financial freedom is as important as well. Amen
