Family Tree, Part 3: Leave, Cleave & Become

(Genesis 2:24) (Amplified Bible) "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall become united and cleave to his wife, and they shall become one flesh."   (Genesis 2:18) "The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.""   (Genesis 2:24) (Amplified Bible) "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall become united and cleave to his wife, and they shall become one flesh."   How do I have a life-giving marriage?   1.     Leave (Genesis 2:24) (Amplified Bible) "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother…"   (Matthew 19:29) "And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life."   2.     Cleave   (Genesis 2:24) (Amplified Bible) "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall become united and cleave to his wife…"   (Ephesians 4:3) (NLT) "Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. "   3.     Become   (Genesis 2:24) (Amplified Bible) "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall become united and cleave to his wife, and they shall become one flesh."   What are you becoming?    (Hebrews 13:4)  "Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral."   (James 1:17)  "Every good and perfect gift is from above…" (Ephesians 5:22-24) "Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church— for we are members of his body."   (Ephesians 5:31-32) "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh."   (Ephesians 5:32-33) "This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church.
