Family Under Attack — Purpose For My Family

Continuing a series on the family under pressure, this message builds on Psalm 127 : unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. The Latin phrase drawn from it — without the Lord, frustration — frames the whole. God's purpose for the family is to build life on Christ so each person can become who God made them to be. The hinge is 1 Corinthians 11:1 : follow my example as I follow Christ. That requires honestly admitting failure, since children are shaped far more by a parent's actions than words. Children are described as arrows that must be formed, aimed, and drawn back — which is where loving discipline enters. The application names common obstacles transparently: discontent with the present stage, comparison, worry, and pretending to have it all together. The deeper invitation is into God's family through faith in Jesus.
