Honesty matters to God, and it so it matters to us. No one would promote dishonesty as a thing to aspire to, yet we’ve all struggled with it at times. Whether it’s a lie, being untrue to who you really are or living a double life, when we as Christians say one thing yet act in a way inconsistent with what we say, our actions paint a picture of hypocrisy and untrustworthiness to the world around us. Historically this has led to ill perspectives of God and the Church, and caused significant hurt both inside and outside of the Church.
