A TikTok cosplayer with 1.6 million followers shot and killed her best friend while drunk, and then continued posting online as if nothing happened. On January 17, 2021, Mary Anne Oliver-Snow, known online as "Yandere Freak" or "Snow the Salt Queen," was drinking with friends in her Houston home when she brought out a gun she believed was unloaded. The group was watching Gotham when she told them she "had a gun like Penguin does." Her friend Helen Hastings, 18, jokingly said "Ooooh, shoot me." Snow obliged, pulled the trigger, and killed her instantly. She was charged with second-degree felony manslaughter, released on $20,000 bond, and continued making cosplay TikToks with bloody backgrounds while wearing an ankle monitor. Her accounts were later deleted.
