Fanfic Chapter 2: Sandquiver

Enjoy! Here is the story! Sandquiver was confused. She had never seen another hybrid before, especially not one working in the palace where she lived. “Mother, why is there another hybrid here? Or is it a trybrid?” Sandquiver asked.” It's a trybrid, thanks.” The dragon said in a rude tone. “I know What job you can have, since you two are getting along so well and are the same age, you can be her friend. Keep her company, ya know?” “WHAT!!!” Sandquiver and Raindrop shouted in union. “Why does she have to babysit me? I know how to fight and protect myself; I do not need a babysitter!” “I know you think that, but you might need one, plus I cannot just leave this kind looking dragon out in a sandstorm without any help and I am not going to put one of my subjects in danger while trying to help her. So, she will be your ‘babysitter’ as you call it, I hope you two get along soon. Now Sandquiver, please show Raindrop where she will be staying.” “But mother-” Sandquiver started. “That is final.” Queen Arid said in a stern voice that Queen Arid only used it when she was mad or trying to end a conversation she did not want to hear any more about. “Yes mother.” Sandquiver sighed. “Follow me.” Sandquiver said to Raindrop and led her up four flights of stairs to an empty room next to her own room. “Why did we take the stairs when we could have just flown?” Raindrop said out of breath. “It's good exercise for your legs.” Sandquiver said bluntly. “Any way this is your room and...” Sandquiver trailed off. “Yes?” Raindrop asked curiously. “And I am sorry for being a jerk towards you I am just so used to mother not paying attention to me and she's so busy she rarely ever does anymore so when I saw her paying more attention to you then she ever does to me I-I got-” “jealous.” Raindrop finished for Sandquiver. “Yeah...exactly. Do you forgive me?” Sandquiver said nervously. “Yes of course I do it was Just a small misunderstanding. I think the job the queen gave me will be a lot easier for both of us.” Raindrop answers. “What hybrid are you anyway?” Raindrop asks sounding very curious to know. “Oh well I'm a sandwing icewing hybrid...kinda a bad hybrid to be with the war and all...my dad was an icewing. He did not know he had eggs until my mom told him, and he was furious he wanted my egg to be smashed to bits without delay, so you know what side of the war he is on now...the side that wants hybrids to die and not exist.” Sandquiver explained. “So, what are your parents like?” Sandquiver asked Raindrop. Raindrop zoned out; it looked as if she were in deep thought. “Oh well, umm about that...” Raindrop started. “AAAAAIIIIIIEEEEEEEE!!!!” A loud bloodcurdling scream cut through the air. “WE ARE UNDER ATTACK DO NOT LET THE PRINCESS GET HURT OR THE OTHER TRYBRID, RAINDROP!!!!!” Queen Arid shouts at her guards.   This is a public episode.
