What this episode covers
It is Fantasy Football season and your drafts are right around the corner. Not everyone pays attention to football all year and a lot people are just tuning in. If you are getting ready to draft, we advise you to start mock drafting. This is a great way to try new strategies and practice for the real thing. What is the best fantasy football draft strategy? There is no one way to do it and we want to show you different strategies. We did a 2024 Fantasy Football Mock Draft for you. 2024 Fantasy Football Mock Draft: What is the Best Fantasy Football Draft Strategy? This mock draft is a standard set up and you can see a lot different strategies. Justin Henry from the Justin Henry show joined me in looking all of the different draft strategies. We also looked at each position, individually. It's important to know where the runs are and where the value is. Looking at the replacement value when you take a quarterback early or late. Quarterbacks The top guys went in the first 4 rounds. In most cases you are taking a quarterback over your #1 RB or WR. Would you rather take Anthony Richardson in the 5th or Jayden Daniels in the 10th? What about CJ Stroud in the 5th or Brock Purdy in the 9th. You don't want to look back on your draft and wish you did something different. Running Backs The NFL and Fantasy Football have both devalued the running back position. There is usually 4-5 running backs in the first round, but no longer 12 of them. Depending on if you are picking early or late, you might have a different approach to this position. Looking at the replacement value in the middle rounds helps you plan for runs. Wide Receivers There are so many good wide receivers these days. But, even that position has tiers and you want as many of the top 36 wide receivers as possible. You can't wait until Round 7 or 8 to get one, they will be gone. Knowing this ahead of time will help you prepare. Knowing that I need to get at least 3 wide receivers in the top six rounds and sticking to it. Tight Ends Travis Kelce is no longer being drafted as the top tight end. The gap has closed from the top and we have more guys that we can trust. This allows you more flexibility if you want to go late. It is very difficult to build a roster with an early quarterback and early tight end build. You can go early tight end and late quarterback or vice versa. Looking at this mock, you see several examples of both strategies.
