Emmit es un exitoso hombre de negocios que se autoproclama el “Rey de los Estacionamientos de Minnesota”, mientras que Ray es un oficial de libertad condicional con mala suerte que culpa a Emmit de todos sus fracasos. La disputa entre ellos se intensifica cuando Ray intenta robar un valioso sello de Emmit, desencadenando una serie de eventos que incluyen asesinatos, engaños y un enigmático mafioso llamado V.M. Varga (interpretado por David Thewlis).
