from audio archive Podcast · host Stefan Fuchs

🎓 Stefan Fuchs (Science journalist) in conversation with Benjamin R. Barber (1939-2017). The professor of civil society Benjamin R. Barber was a proponent of direct democracy and, alongside the American philosopher Michael Walzer, the most important proponent of “communitarianism”. His book “Jihad versus Mc World - Coca Cola and Holy War” is considered one of the most influential publications of the late 20th century. His public commitment was to direct democracy and turned against a meaningless, destructive caspitalism, against authoritarian representative democracies and against right-wing tribalism, which is represented by right-wing extremists, “Reich citizens” and Islamic fundamentalists alike. Benjamin R. Barber studied at the Albert Schweizer College in Graubünden, Switzerland, which is why this interview was also conducted in German in 2010. 📚 Veröffentlichungen u.a. / publications a.o.: - Benjamin R.
