Fashion and Autism - With Ellie and Jack

from Crohn's and Autism Awareness Advocate · host Mason Milne

Today I'm joined with good friends of mine Ellie and Jack. I went to college with Ellie and Jack, I also went to the same School Jack! This is Ellie's first appearance and first podcast, this is Jack's 3rd appearance!  We speak about Doctor Who and Autism. Ellie is autistic her diagnosis was around 13/14 years and Jack's diagnosis was around 3/5 and mine about 8/9 we are all autistic and love the show Doctor Who! We touch how relevant they both are and can associate with each other. We talk about liking and doing the same things, and finding it hard to try new things, which links in with food textures too! We talk about mannerisms of the Doctor and how he shows autistic traits. We talk about fashion as the character the Doctor mostly every incarnation wears the same clothes, possibly as mixture of items and clothes but not many, we discuss about this saying the Doctor is used to wearing the same, the 9th Doctor played by Christopher Ecclestone did wear the same his entire time as the doctor purple top and leather jacket. We think this relates to autism because some autistic people are used to wearing the same clothes and comforts them! Jack gives us an update on his Netflix premier later this year and says he worked with an actor who has briefly been on Doctor Who! A great discussion we doing about why we like the show and talk David Tennant and Catherine Tate coming back!  Great advise about autism from both Ellie and Jack!  Ellie: Being positive is important! Jack: I am proving people wrong and showing the world what I can do!  and they share their quotes they relate which are common catchphrases...  Jack: Allonsy! - Let's Go!  Ellie: Geronimo! - Expressing Exhilaration!  Thank you again Ellie and Jack it has been fantastic!
