FAST TRACK: Embalmer
from Career Goals with Kris Calvert Hosted by careergoalskris
Kris takes you on the FAST TRACK with Valerie Mabry who works as an embalmer at a private funeral home in her home state of Alabama. It’s amazing when you think about how very little most of us know about an industry that all of us will, in some way or another, be involved with. In this fascinating interview, you will find out what really goes on behind the scenes at a funeral home, what it takes to prepare a body for proper viewing, what some of the personally rewarding benefits are, and even what the schooling and licensing is all about. If you are enamored by CSI or loved your anatomy lab and in the end can handle supporting people at a great time of emotional need, this work might be for you! As Valerie says it’s a lot of “hurry up and wait” in this job, but no more waiting here! Take a listen and even get some great tips about the whole process that you can use today.
