Fatal crash on Appin Road sparks critical incident

A 39-year-old driver died after swerving onto the wrong side of Appin Road in Sydney's south-west and colliding head-on with a cement truck. The crash occurred approximately 50 metres in front of two police cars travelling under lights and sirens, with investigators believing the driver may have been attempting to clear a path for the emergency vehicles.
