Fatal Obsession: The Predictable Tragedy of the WNO Killings

In September 2015, Basil Borutski murdered three of his former partners—Carol Culleton, Anastasia Kuzyk, and Nathalie Warmerdam—within a three-hour span in and around the small community of Wilno, Ontario. Although the victims had proactively sought legal protection and Borutski had a well-documented history of domestic violence, threats, and criminal convictions, the justice system repeatedly released him with light sentences and failed to monitor him effectively.
