A fatal accident occurred on Mount Buller Road when a tree slid down an embankment during a severe storm, hitting a vehicle and killing the passenger instantly. The incident occurred around 9.15am on the road leading to the ski village amid severe weather conditions, with wind gusts of around 100km/h and 42mm of rain battering the region.
