Father of man killed by Delco police questions events that led to fatal shooting

Thursday's deadly shooting in Aldan, Delaware County, began as a call for help. Investigators say a man requested a courtesy ride from police so he could go to his father's house in Upper Darby around 3:30 a.m. “He said he called 911, that he wants to come and see me,” the man's father told NBC10. Police say when they encountered the man, he was armed with a knife. They say an officer tried using a Taser on him before she shot and killed him. His father says he doesn't believe that. “There has to be an investigation on this. I don’t know what they are talking about. I don’t believe what they’re saying.” He says his son suffered from mental health issues. The police officer has been reassigned to desk duty while the Delaware County District Attorney's Office investigates.
