'Fatigue' named as cause of fatal Karnes County crash

A crash June 25 that killed four people on U.S. 181 in Karnes County was caused by a driver being “fatigued or asleep,” according to the final crash report filed with the Texas Department of Transportation. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Highway Patrol responded to the crash that Thursday morning, which occurred at approximately 8 a.m. Fernando Espinoza, 23, was the driver of a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling north on U.S. 181 near Hobson Road.
