Twice born twice more twice more twice more twice more twice more twice more Twice born radio, which your boy Devon and of course Jason is here. We are back happy New Year top of 2016 right now This is our first podcast man of the new year. It is happy new year man. Thank you.

I appreciate it It's also our five year anniversary of our first podcast upload Which is crazy to even think about that we started doing this five years ago That's interesting even with a little midtown hiatus But we we start the first podcast with me and we added me now right shot out to me If you hear this, maybe you're open. We just want to say hi. Yeah long time long time no time to but now here We are the top of the new year. Yes, huh?

Jess and Jessica shot out to Jessica who's out there So anyway, we are back and we are doing this at the top of the year But if you've been listening to our podcast in the previous episodes, first of all, thank you for just appreciate it Yeah, yeah, driving on iTunes and all that we've been getting some great feedback and we appreciate that But most of our format the question that I get the most is are you guys a Christian hip-hop podcast? And I think that we probably need to clarify just for the sake of the podcast we're doing tonight What we are so I'm gonna let Jason say that because he he's the creator of this thing You really want me to say that? Well, I want you to talk about what this is man So that people understand that like you know, well the original the original roots of the whole thing Yes was Christian hip-hop and the lack of media throughout what that being said It seems as if though everyone has a a media outlet now in Christian hip-hop It's really it's really gone pretty big. But that being said, we still have our roots in Christian hip-hop We do talk a lot about Christian hip-hop, but we talk more about culture Then I would say Christian hip-hop itself which is the culture that we live in today and how how the how the The current climate of our culture fits into the Bible We would never want to try to make the Bible fit into our culture We would want to make our culture fit into the Bible So that's kind of backwards for most people but thought processes is that the Bible doesn't change culture does so ultimately we need to be able to see ourselves into work and So that's why everything we do is biblically based for the most part We do laugh and joke and have fun and sometimes we get a little off base, but you know, that's that's too Brother's in the barbershop.

That's kind of how it works. Yeah, and you know, it's I'm glad you said that man Because to be honest with you like I wanted to be very clear like we are Christians, man We are die-hard unashamed Christians. We're actually gonna talk about that another podcast But even what that even means to be on the shame but at the end of the day we just like to discuss topics in today's topic I think is crucial crucial crucial crucial crucial for the church and crucial for anybody in our generation That is looking to make an impact for Christ and to make the difference in this world today We're talking about fear man. It's just one word that's packed man I mean, I think it's a loaded word right there But fear and and just talking about you know what that looks like and to be honest with you It's it's justified even with just the last quarter of last year Yeah, November 13th the Paris attacks happened 130 people were killed then less than 30 days later December 2nd The San Bernardino shooting was 14 people killed 22 injured and then just recently like a couple of days ago Or I guess the Oregon militia standoff having a federal building about 300 miles south east of Portland Which isn't done yet, which isn't done yet, and I'm not even sure if it's a fine one thing I don't understand it that so much but there's so much going on in the world that I'll be honest with you Even for me getting ready to have our second child.

I do you know for lack of a better term fear for my children growing up Yeah, that's a scary thought it's a scary thought it almost would make someone who doesn't have children Just just have a bit of a concern and say you know what? Maybe I shouldn't have any kids because why would I want to bring someone up in this environment? Yep, you know and how that is set up so yeah, I'm with you on that um Let's just jump into the word real quick I had a scripture that I wanted to go over and it's it's Isaiah 35 verse 4 It says say say to those who are fearful hearted be strong do not fear Behold your God will come with vengeance with the recompense of God he will come and save you and that's of course Isaiah 35 verse 4 now divine already mentioned the whole thing that happened in Paris and You know we got a chance to because of the way media is now we got a chance to to find out a little bit about What happened there from the standpoint of people who actually went through it people got shot people who were in like the theater portion People who witnessed it as a part of some of the the restaurants and things that were going on people who were at the actual soccer game Where the one guy blew himself up and it's just amazing to me that you know these things that were used to reading about happening in third world countries Are now coming to the western world so speaking when I say western world I mean America's as well as the major European Yeah, exactly exactly so for us it's always been well. Yeah, you guys do that as long as you keep that over there Right, right, right and now it's in our backyard and we're like whoa, you know, this is crazy I don't know what to do, you know, and then with the size of America I mean, you know, there's so much that can happen right, you know, it used to be it's kind of weird because we look at ethnicities and things like that in our country I don't remember when I was a youth and when I said youth I mean like maybe like 12 13 years old or so Right, I would I would go to certain areas and never see certain people right?

You know, I mean like like I would go to if I went to Atlanta I would never see anybody who's Hispanic in Atlanta 20 30 years ago And now the whole country is a melting pot. Yeah, so everyone is everywhere. Yeah, and the question is do we walk around and you see somebody What a turban on you? Oh, yeah, I'm not getting on elevator with you.

Yes, there you go Yeah, do you want to do that? I think that that many people will do that right many people are doing that Yeah, I don't think that's a fair way to live your life. No, I think it's total fear. Yeah, you know Some would say that well, I'm just looking out for myself I know I think you're actually living in fear.

You're more afraid of what's going to happen Then you are embracing people in culture The Charleston shooting in the church right because that was heavy because you're talking like a Caucasian kid comes into this Bible study Historically black church and I mean literally like it when you read the story It's like it's mind-boggling loved on like it was the whole nine like and then that shooting happens and like it was so it was so crazy Kid you not that Sunday that very Sunday I had to we had to start off church service by praying Not we prayed for the people of Charleston like we pray for them But the next piece we had to do was pray for the people inside the church to not be of the anxiety level was so Yes, hi, like this is I mean man. It's like crazy like like Part of it is we have to separate it because part of it is fear and part of it is just common sense caution, right? Right, right? So we're blessed at our church that one of our ministers is a police Police officer for Long Beach City Long Beach, and we also have a high patrol officer there We have several others who do some governmental work that I can't name on a podcast, right?

So you know on any given Sunday we might have about four or five people who are legally carried completely prepared, right? But but we're never thinking about that I mean never think about that But this was crazy now right ever since that incident Charleston like now like we actually have usher strategically placed across the church Mm-hmm just to watch for weird people who come in we had this one lady who came in and like weird people or weird looking people weird acting people We're acting people because this is like this work is real crazy It's like you think about the old church right and we always talk about the Christians We always talk about the widows and the orphans but understand this that like crazy people have been around forever Right and why's it crazy people? I mean people that you cannot trust a simple action that they do right anything from pedophiles to murderers have been around for Centuries and around the church and been around the church So like in the old and like in the other church like in the biblical church They didn't have people carrying gun then have any of those things and then Christ comes in right in the middle of this Roman explosion It says hey love your enemy like love those people who are gonna kill you like it was of no one's fact that people would come in and just Complete destroy your small group when you write You did have people that were carrying Yes, sort right It was it was but even then like the code of arm was different It was like another version of the wild west but but but understand the thinking of Christ right Christ I can just say fear not that was even his main point his main point was go beyond tolerance go beyond not fearing love like chase those people Yeah, that's bananas to me right and the description that says where there's perfectly there is no fear in perfectly There is no fear yes What does it say it's versus 17 through 19? It says love has been perfected among among us in this that we may have boldness in the day of judgment because he is So are we in this world?

There is no fear in love but perfect love casts out fear because fear involves torment But he who fears has not been made perfect in love we love him because he first loved us It's an interesting scripture. Yes, those two those seem like two vastly different words, right? So how does that apply to our practical life when you say something like it cast out in a situation like right now where the climate is crazy socially How does perfect love cast out fear? Well, I think I think the key there is to recognize the opposite of love is not hate The opposite of love is fear because what makes hate fear right when we talk about how We were enslaved for years and you know all that that happened We recognize that it wasn't that they hated us right it was that they feared us they knew our strength Yeah, and it was their fear that said okay, you know what this is what we need to do We need to round them up and make them fear us because we can control them there in that fear Yeah, and as we can see in that word right there.

It's that's too opposite sides of the spectrum. Yeah, yeah Okay, so name that can you remember the moment you were like the most afraid of your life? Oh Yes, yeah, okay, well it was probably a series of moments, but I would say It happened when my mom left When I was seven years old and my mom left and I can remember that day like it was yesterday of course But when it happened it was you know the the letter on the TV You know my dad breaking the news to me my brother saying you know what your mom's gone She's not coming back and my mind instantly went to I'm never gonna see my mother again. Wow So I had a healthy peer of never seeing my mother again as it mama's way wow wow, you know what I mean?

So even when I did see my mother and she would drop me off in my house After she had her visitation I would be at the screen door crying I'm like seven eight years old and I'm crying like crazy because every time she drove away I had a fear that I would never see her again Wow, and when I'm talking about fear of death, which is mean like she never come at that just I'm gonna see my mother again. That's crazy. Yeah. Wow Shake a lot of life.

It really shake a lot of my life. I fear. Oh, but but now definitely but now Where I mean how do you turn out as you know older? Honestly, it it only changed when I when I met Christ Gotcha, it only changed when I truly really understood who Christ was that's when they'd all changed One of the things that's always funny to me is when you read scripture and you look at the scripture of Jesus when he was He was about 12 years old and people like to say he was preaching He was asking and answering questions in the synagogue right and then when his peers came back and they found him they were like hey What are you doing?

Like we were supposed to leave right but Jesus responds to them was like I'm here And I'm about to I'm about my father's business about to drop these jewels. So It was at that moment when I actually understood that scripture. I'm like I get it. Uh-huh our parents are there for a shaping for a time period Yeah, they're actually there until you get to meet the Lord for yourself right once you've met the Lord for yourself Most of the decisions are gonna be made by you.

Yeah, you know I mean and it's funny because yes You're still gonna be under the household of your parent or guardian or what have you but the decisions that you make Yeah, because your parents don't make decisions for you when you're a teenager Your parents tell you what to do and what you shouldn't be but they don't make the decision you ultimately still have to make a decision That's why we had all the same that we had when we were young I mean the decision right to be a part of the things that I was a part of so now that being said that brings me back to thinking about fear and how how I was brought up by my father and A lot of people feel that you know when you when you spank a child or what have you that you're bringing them up in fear Yeah, what have you know, I don't I don't really subscribe to that being fear. No, I call it the choice changer Yeah, it's it's actually a truth in a reality that there are consequences for your actions Yeah, right so if you do this You're going to get this is gonna happen cause an effect right that's all a spanking or what have you is It is a precursor to what's gonna happen in the real world. Yeah, when you do this Yeah, and then this is the response right and that's that's that's ultimately what that portion of child rearing is now That being said it's always come a conversation. Yeah, because you need to understand why that's my question because I think there is a healthy I want to use the word fear that you're that you're instilling your children and it's fear at the immature level But as I get older, I think they understand that the consequence is to teach a lesson not to have you fear first Like my son that's why that the respect level is where you grow up Yeah, like my respect level for my father is all time high because I know that anytime I did get any kind of punishment Right, it was for my better They don't because we've all seen children who have never been punished in their life It's it's and they don't understand why they can't just go into a market and knock everything off the shelf And what they're getting arrested for I've done nothing wrong What do you mean you've done nothing wrong right?

I'll go into a classroom and and cuss the teacher around trying to slap exactly I kind of stuff like and we joke about it like oh my mom would have done this or my dad would have done this I think I think what we misinterpret as a fear is an understanding. It's an understanding It is literally reaping and sewing like if I sew this seed So I keep right now my son is 14 months and he does this thing now where he's going to do something wrong He knows it he knows it and he looks at you and he watches you while he does your eyes are locking you going So so we've stopped saying no cuz no doesn't stop him So we start saying make better decisions make better decisions He helps you as no clue what that mean right the minute he does something wrong the minute he does it and we're looking at him We put him in his plate, but he hates his plate, and mine is going to jail him right? We immediately put him in there right? We call timeout or whatever he loses his mind right?

But now every time he looks over to do that thing he knows exactly where he's going so he sees me coming towards him He's not afraid of me whooping him. He knows what's gonna happen And so it's almost like you need those moments even as a kid or as an adult you need those moments to figure out like oh I should do this you pay a bill late in the moment you're going up Yeah, but then when you go to get that house and they start pulling up all those 30 day late You learn in that moment. Oh credit matters. That's a consequence right?

You're not afraid of making a late payment right? You just know what it does you have a healthy understanding that I should not do that now That's on a practical level right that's not a practical level But my question is in a situation like a pair or the situation like I don't know Any of those things that have happened right? How do you? Prepare your mind to not fear an unjust consequence Mmm for instance you going down to listen you're going down to a certain part of Pasadena where you're wearing the wrong color right?

How do you go into that neighborhood without fear? Hmm? Right or just put it with make it simple you get pulled over by a cop and you don't know what's gonna happen How do you prepare yourself not to be fearful after seeing all the things that have happened right? How do you like?

Oh my god, I'm not sure what's going to happen to me. I don't know what's about to happen right now. You know You know what's weird for me is that I don't fear death We're gonna get to that. I'm glad you said that and there's a reason why I don't fear death Okay, because I believe that I'm walking in my purpose.

There it is So when you're doing what God would have you to do you have a healthy understanding for if God takes me out Then I've done my job right and I'm okay with that yeah because I did my job am I gonna miss my family? Of course I am they're going to miss me right with that being said I know guys going to take care of them You know what I mean? Yep, um I think one of the things that's that scares people into a healthy fear is they fear people with no fear The crazy phone. Yes.

Well, that's a crazy, but yeah, you gotta say it's not the loose right sense. Yeah Most people fear Isis because they're willing to go to the extent of killing themselves. Yeah, but themselves They're willing to kill themselves right in order to kill the impotels. Yeah, and I think that Ultimately that brings a fear to us because we say well They don't even they don't even want to kill someone and live they're willing to go down to yeah They're going to take which means at that point.

They don't care who they kill as long as they kill period Right and you know and I've told you in the past that I've made a mistake of Watching some of the videos. I probably should have like what where for instance when the 21 the 21 Christian man Oh, you know, we're beheaded and you know and I watch that video but You know there were a couple of those of those men that were there the copic Christians There were a couple of men there who when they were getting ready to be beheaded beheaded There was no fear in their eyes. They were at peace whatever. Yeah, you know And I think that when I when I watched that video when I saw that part I was like I'm trying to because when I see something such as that my mind goes to What would I be thinking right?

What would I be doing at that moment nobody wants to go out like that? No, well, I see nobody wants to go out. Let's be honest. Nobody wants to go out prove no one wants to die Yeah, but if you're gonna die, it's like I take me my sleep.

Yeah, right? That's how you think you're like you don't want to burn You don't want to drown you don't want to you know, because there's just so many different ways that are just like that's so gory Ultimately how you die doesn't really matter Now the matter is your time was up right now for you not for you, but those are left behind Yes, my all means are like I can't believe they you had to do them like that or or it gives you that it leaves that martyr essence Like that yo, mommy you know, you heard that Let's do it went out just the way you're talking about a boy right now. It leaves an effect on you like my man was at peace It makes yourself a flag. Yeah, exactly.

Yeah, exactly. Yeah, like in the in the gangster world right when you when you watch set it off Right the way Queen Latifah went out. You're like yo, she went out like a G. Blaze of glory, right?

She got shot at least a hundred fifty times They have to at least thirty six clips. Yeah, and I mean yeah, that's the thing though And this is what I was gonna say and this is this is gonna sound crazy Because all the hype around Star Wars, but let's just go back to the original. Okay as a kid none of us are good with heroes dying We just aren't if you look at most of the older movies there was no death and resurrection of the old heroes The heroes always in a weird situation, but they always brought themselves through right so in 1977 when they introduced this dude Obi-Wan And halfway through the movie Obi-Wan puts his lightsaber up and lets Darth Vader take him out By the way, if you go back and look at how Darth Vader swung that lightsaber It is the most hilarious fight scene ever had you have to watch it their arms working it might have been James Earl Jones in that So so what happens is like it was mind-boggling for me right to watch him now. He says something that's crazy He goes if you strike me down.

This is what Obi-Wan said if you strike me down. I'll become more powerful Hmm, I'll become the most powerful right and so I think about this right I think about this When if let's just say right now, we were to die somebody comes in here. They take over this podcast and they kill us right We close our eyes and we open them up and we're staring at the face of God, right? Okay, there is more and then not to mention all the stuff that happens post that like the new heaven to earth all that stuff Yes, but let's just think about that if I were to die right now I open my eyes and I'm looking at God nothing should be more glorious than that right right?

Nothing should be more glorious than that. Let me take you to an example of what happened. Okay, Francis Chan's buddy What a Francis Chan's buddy. It was our Christian radio show in Ontario.

Okay on the radio show a caller calls in about death He goes listen you're gonna live in fear about death you really shouldn't do that because you don't know when you're gonna go Yeah, he goes take it for me I can get on the freeway right now on motorcycle driving down the 210 get sideswipe by a truck and die I don't know what's gonna happen the dude gets in his car in his motorcycle Tries down the 210 Side-swipe by a truck and dies right after that show Wow, okay, and when you hear that it makes you go Okay, do I want to call my shot like that right? I want to be able to just speak that like as much as we want to see Christ as much as we are like That's so glorious. Yeah, I don't think I could ever speak those words now I just watched it happen like right the dude called out his own death I don't even want to do that so like like there is still sort of a fear even as a Christian knowing that at the end of the day I'm gonna see God after the body present with the Lord, but there's still this weird fear that makes me go I don't want to die like that like that That's the only fear that we have to watch this scripture Hebrews 212 or 214 therefore since the children sharing flesh and blood he himself Jesus Likewise also partook of the same death through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death. Mm-hmm.

That is the devil, right? So you mean to tell me that the whole reason that Jesus died outside of salvation was to snatch away the power of defeat to defeat death And that does not mean that all of us now don't have to have a funeral We know right he goes listen now you go to sleep. Yeah, exactly that crazy The old preacher says it's the death of death in the death of Christ That's the death of that well, they're just into the Christ because when he gets up now Star Wars check this So I want to say his return to the Jedi when Han Solo gets frozen. Yes, right the first time I saw that I thought Han Solo was dead Oh, it hurts back.

It hurts back. That's what it was. Yeah, I thought that was it. He was done right carbon Right.

Yeah, especially because of the facial expression he had like he looked like he was in pain Like yeah, yeah, right and then he gets Thought out right right so he comes back. Yeah, right. I thought he was dead I never even realized that those little lights on the side were him breathing. Oh, he's gonna know that as a kid As a kid that's a little refron.

I thought that was it job one right, but then he has any well I don't want to go away to much of the movie based on bloodlines and all that stuff because it gets it gets in there I said it watch the movie the whole time like very very very You don't know anything about that like listening about the craziest thing for me It was there fear was the biggest thing for me on a plane ride coming back from Japan It was the most beautiful in my life. Everybody was literally screaming Jesus, right and shantay was on the front So the mind you I spilled my drink on a baby in front of me That's how true to let the plane was like it came out of my cup into the person in front of me Right, so so all that stuff happens and then the plane finally kind of settles down We land we get off the plane everybody is nervous everybody is shaking to the high heavens, right? As we walk through customs shantays, we're going you know what you feel like? You know that you know that you weren't scared she was like No, not really who are all like okay, you're lying.

She's like no She says I know the Lord showed me what I'm supposed to be doing And I can't complete that if he kills me on this plane, right now at first I was like poppycock What exactly out here right but like I think for people who have a real good intense relationship with the Lord You come to grips with this is what the Lord like what you said if he takes me home right now Then I've done what I've been told to do right now. I'm ready. You did the podcast Let's say this is like this is like when that kind of stuff happens like when you have a relationship with the Lord There's a settling in your spirit about most things if you really had that relationship with them That doesn't necessarily make you ready to go so you're ready to die yeah, but it does make you go if it is it is man It is it is and like I think most people in this day and age are living that yellow life Was like I know that when I die I can't get any of the stuff back So I'm gonna live life to the fullest right because when I'm dead I'm gone But we don't we this is the part that eliminates fear when we die we know that there's a whole eternity That's hanging in the balance based upon what we're doing with the breath we have it. That's that's it right there That is that is it right there because with the whole you know, you know, you know way of life When I look at that and I see you know young people like yellow and you know, you live once and You know, I'm gonna do what I can while I can this another and I look at that I'm like I don't think you realize that there's a whole other life that you have to live and that one is eternal so for instance Let's just say that your afterlife is 99 cents and this life is one penny Why would you let that one penny ruin the dollar?

Wow, that's true all because of what you do with that penny because you have that one pin in your hand at the moment, right? That's where it is. It's like, okay, so you don't see the other 99 cents. Yeah, you don't realize you're a dollar You only value your life for the penny that it is for the penny the penny that you see and that's the struggle It's trying to get people to see that you're more than a penny.

I'll take it a step further. Let's say a penny Two trillions of dollars. Yeah. Oh, yeah, it's like we sacrifice everything to have this one I think you like literally just like combated the whole podcast that we're afraid of losing Everything we're afraid of losing like and we don't realize that there's a reward that is so much greater than anything we can tangibly touch exactly emotionally feel Like I'm gonna listen to a podcast by John Piper He was talking about this whole idea of like sex and marriage and why it's set aside from Arizona Why you know that kind of stuff reflects that you go in here?

It reflects your heart, right? So he was talking about he says man like when a man or woman gets together under the grace of God with the purpose of Exalted his name and displaying and mirroring Chrysler for the church when sexual interaction happens It is the most explosive thing ever and it is a foreshadow to the ecstasy that you feel once you reach eternity not the sexual sense There is no marriage nobody will get on but you're gonna feel this he mitts like and he goes like when you're in Christ And you feel it's the most Christ-exalting thing But when you take it out of context it becomes a small blip of pleasure that later turns into guilt Yes foreshadow of enjoying life For a lifetime and then having a eternity of regret yes a nighttime of pleasure leading to lifetime Consequences is a foreshadow that he was like it's more supposed to be besides marriage has been ruined Yeah, because you go in on pure Have been ruined because there's an expectation yeah from her or from him or collectively there's an expectation right instead of Finding these things out together and you know what misses do I was actually supposed to happen because when we're young we're afraid We're not gonna have this opportunity again. I may not be able to excuse my friends GTD get the draws right? I'm able to do that and so part of me, you know, I don't want to be the only virgin I don't like right especially it's a day generation like for us.

Yeah, it was kind of like you could be a virgin It actually was kind of cool from it. Yeah, but today's generation I think it's cool. I think it could be cool today if well It depends on the circle that you run away exactly for instance my son He's 20 years old yeah, and he's a virgin he doesn't mind He's a virgin but he doesn't like when I use him as an example like right now Yeah, he hates that but I appreciate him for remaining pure. Yeah, I my prayer is that he's going to find someone else Who is pure?

Yeah, because as far as you know between if there's one thing that I wish I could have done what's remained Grab it up. Yep, right remain pure as well as my wife. Yeah, because at that point there would never be any sexual dissension or Thoughts of you know, well, maybe this could be better. Maybe that could be better because we're trying to figure this whole thing out Yeah, yeah, we don't know any better right you know what I mean, and and Well, okay, so I want to go back.

So we are we're triads, right? So, you know how how you had a holy Trinity, right? Yeah, father son holy spirit. So we as human beings were triads as well.

We are body so spirit, right? So we're body so spirit. This is one of the things I teach to my teens all the time when you have fleshly desires Right and and you want to have sex and you want to you want to and you're 100% controlled by your flesh. Yeah, you are suppressing 66.67% of yourself for that 33 and a third being your flesh Well, I mean and I tell them don't allow one third of you Wow to say the rest of you to hell because remember that one third stays here period is the soul in spirit That's gonna go to hell.

Yeah, not your body. You will feel paid. Yeah But it's not gonna be your actual body. Yeah, so when I when I try to explain to them that you have to be stronger Yeah, you have to be stronger from the inside than you are from the outside because it's fleeting It's a fleeting thing and it becomes a habit to chase the pleasure.

Yeah If you're not a virgin or your gourshard day, not at all 99% of the church coaching that this hope we don't be have where you can know right now But but the truth of that is that it does have an effect there is a consequence that is long term It's upon temporary pleasures in the same thing. I I'm completely agree with you I wish I could have not did not have done that but there was a fear what people would think there's a fear of what you know of this girl You know not not not wanting me anymore It was almost like a sense of validation for me because there was a fear and it's weird because we never think about fear adjusting our Perspective of ourselves as much as we do others about others. Yeah, right? So yeah, you're right It's the honest to God truth and we will sacrifice like you said two thirds of us for chasing this one third mentality And I think that's yeah, I think you said it perfectly man That is that is really the antithesis of the love of God the love of God says listen What I have for you is so much bigger than anything you're gonna experience on this very even marriage and let's go What's that further with that because you meant you said something right you said you wish that you and your wife would have been pure Right, but let's go.

It's not even just pure because Paul says he really wished that most of us were like him Right, we didn't even want because when you come together in marriage you're talking about though the biggest trial of Christ exalting Spousal submission that you've ever seen in your life even in your sexual relations It is no longer about so much about pleasure as much as it is serving the person that you love right is more about Servitude and the Bible says to me one to another with the idea that you're both going to try to please each other exactly completely Different experience than what you have even if even if fellas and I'm gonna Let's be real for this moment even if you want to go in there and do the dude You want to get there not get out you want her to tell her friends about what you just did right? That has nothing to do with her and it's everything to do with you feeling good You don't want to be the one who does anything crazy and she goes back and tells her for like it's all Selfish. Yeah, right. It's crying.

It's all comes back to your flesh. It all comes back to the flesh. Listen, it's crazy But this is the first episode of minute everybody do yes, sir But I think it's a good point right here. I'm gonna what I want to do is there was a Francis Chan sermon that he did That's I mean, it's pretty famous, but he tells about you turn it down.

I'm gonna leave that audio Yeah, last two minutes I did this podcast just listen to it So if you're fearful if you're fearful of anything And I think Jason has another scripture you can probably give me doors as well if there's anything that you're afraid of first thing I think we both want you to understand is that that's understandable Being afraid is not making is not not mean you're weak nor does it mean that you are not Christian nor does it mean that you are out of pocket? What that means is there's an area in your life that you need to present to God for him to address for you either through his word Or do personal meditation with him because at the end of the day Fear is not something that God wants you to have his spirit that he has given you That's what he's giving you so if you're afraid of something out here How might it is if you're a person right now, you're afraid that your girlfriend or boyfriend is gonna leave you Okay, that's a real fear That's a real fear But it also needs to be Presented to Christ and the reason why we sing that is because there is something on the other side of this life That is so much worth living for and whatever it is that you're afraid of losing on this Alright, I think we've already covered it from a script world Alright guys, well until next time this is the bond course. This is Jason yep twice more on radio happy new year happy year New year, yeah, with yours I'm gonna bring an illustration that this is like the first illustration I did it was 20 years ago But I can't think of a better way to explain it. Um, I actually didn't use a rope back then I used to remember a remember computer paper when it was all stuck together and It had a hold on the side that she had a fuel off remember that I remember getting a roll and some guys have no idea What I'm talking about which is crazy to me, but uh cuz how's the best you know and I never worked right cuz they're rolling things But uh, but I had I remember being a youth fashion I put that computer paper all the way around the room and What I'm gonna use a rope now because I can't find that computer paper um Imagine this rope can pretend this rope just goes on forever, okay Just imagination pretend it goes around the world a few times it doesn't it ends of the rock, but uh, let's just imagine this thing goes on forever Now imagine that this rope is a timeline of your existence.

You just exist forever You see this red part this would represent your time on earth You've got a few short years here on earth and then you've got all of eternity somewhere else This is this is your existence and what blows me away is some of you all you think about is this red part? It's all you think about you're consumed with this you go. Oh man. I can't wait till here You know, I'm gonna work hard on the safe safe safe so I can really enjoy this part right here You're consumed with that you think oh man.

I'm gonna get to travel am I gonna eat well mind you this during this part? I'm like are you kidding me? What about this? What about this?

What about this? What about all this stuff? This is it's crazy me because because the Bible teaches that what I do during this little red part determines how I'm gonna exist for Millions and millions and millions of years forever And so why would I spend this little red part trying to make myself as comfortable as possible enjoying myself as much as I can Pause it look I'm gonna live my life for this mission I'm gonna spend my life invest my life for this moment when I cross that finish line See I'm gonna forget about all this stuff. I could enjoy it I'm not gonna look around I'm gonna be like a runner just looking at that moment when I face God because when I face him Then I don't get this chance over again We got one chance at this life on earth and it ended any second for any of us We got one chance at this and then comes eternity and I'm not gonna be fooled I'm not gonna spend my life down here see people look at some of my decision go Oh, you're so stupid because that's gonna really affect this I don't know you're stupid because that's gonna affect all of this man I'm serious.

I look I Look at the way people live and I go wow that is so crazy. You are so crazy You're gonna you're gonna do that right now. Just enjoy right now Not even knowing if you have tomorrow and you think that's smart and that I'm done It doesn't make any sense pongos. I'm not gonna look around at all this stuff and it's tempting.

It's tempting to all of us That's what I'm saying down here. It's crazy because everyone lives that way everyone lives for the red part No one's thinking about the millions of years afterwards. It's just a crazy deception that we can't get out of our minds and pongos I'm not doing that because I keep my eyes on that I keep my eyes on that finish line and I'm gonna forget what's behind me I'm not looking around. I'm just gonna I'm straining because I'm straining for it I'm like stretching forward for that mark.

I'm gonna pass this thing I'm gonna live this out and I'm gonna face him. I'm gonna come before the judges and he's gonna hand me that trophy He goes I'm gonna get in I haven't gotten there yet He goes but you better believe I'm using every muscle exerting every bit about me because I'm gonna pass that
