Fear and pushing through

from Real Talk with Tina and Ann · host Ann Kagarise

Send us Fan MailFear is at the root of so much of who we are. There are many types of fear responses.  Some of us are runners, some of us are fighters and some are paralyzed in their fear. We can even have different fear responses, depending on the situation. As long as fear is present, it is hard to move forward, but we have to remember that any movement is movement. Movement happens outside of our comfort zone, but sometimes fear can be so consuming that we are not able to think of anything else. Tina discusses a deep fear that caused her to have physical reactions and the growth she experienced in the valley. She talks new behaviors, resilience, how to retrain your brain and IFS (Internal Family Systems) therapy.  She reveals how she has learned to stop and take in the new view as she climbs her mountain.  There is beauty in becoming and our entire perspective changes when we get to the other side of that fear. Ann talks about the women she met while ministering in the jail system. Their definitions of themselves were based on their actions, circumstances, fears, and other's perceptions.  She brings up segments from her book, The Sinful Woman, that is based from Luke 7, where religious leaders wrongly judged and shamed her while Jesus saw her heart.  Ann also talks about how she was finally able to fully live after a family member's death.  She also shares her son's fear and how he pushed through to success. We are much more than our fear, our action or someone else's criticism, but the pair discuss how important it is to get to know that fear, that motivation or that child within before changing it. Fears can drive the bus at times, but it is not who we are. Fears can take the shape of the age we were when they enter, but Tina points out that they can manifest into other forms such as anxiety. Quotes: "Criticism that costs nothing is worth nothing," by Jon AcuffViola Davis's quote, "Though I can't live inside yesterday's pain, I can't live without it." Autumn quote. When you're fearful of change, think of the beauty of autumn.(unknown)Our website is Real Talk with Tina and Ann (buzzsprout.com)Our email is:  [email protected]     You can also message us at Real Talk with Tina and Ann on our Facebook page.Like our page and spread the word. Thanks for listeningSupport the show
