Fear the Lord, Hate Evil | Proverbs 8:13
from Mighty Oaks Daily Devotional Hosted by Mighty Oaks Foundation
Proverbs 8:13 reminds us that “the fear of the Lord is to hate evil.” To fear the Lord means to live with overwhelming respect for who He is and what He has done. That reverence for God should shape how we see the world causing us to reject what He rejects and embrace what He embraces. In a culture that often celebrates what God calls sin, followers of Christ are called to stand apart, not with rudeness or arrogance, but with clarity and conviction. True reverence for God means loving what He loves and hating what He hates.
