He waited for the victim to pass away before notifying the authorities, as per the sheriff's office statement.Despite denying any prior acquaintance or conflict with the victim, Stabile acknowledged seeing him in the area and having contemplated his murder for a couple of weeks.The suspect informed detectives that he encountered the victim on Saturday morning, armed himself and set out to find and kill him, as stated by the police.Stabile, who is facing charges of first-degree murder, is currently detained.Stabile's uncle, Angelo Saccente of Seldin, Long Island, shared that Stabile was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 2009 following his mother's suicide. He mentioned that Stabile has been in and out of mental health facilities since then. Two years ago, he relocated to Deerfield Beach to be closer to his father."I'm in disbelief," expressed Saccente to the newspaper. "He's not a bad kid. There's another side to the story of why Johnny did what he did."The uncle further revealed that Stabile "imagines people are pursuing him," and added, "It's unfortunate what he did. He simply needs his medication.
