FEAR'S ANTIDOTE & BEING REAL - Lessons from a Commando

from BEING with Sally Wilson Hosted by Sally Wilson

Tim Thomas never conquered fear. It stayed with him during his tours of duty and the many life-threatening situations in which he found (and placed) himself. What he did realise about fear, though, is that its primary goal is to immobilise us. He realised that action is fear’s antidote. Since he left the armed forces, Tim’s saved more lives in veteran support and recovery than he did in the field. He was an instigator of Mates4Mates and having recovered from PTSD himself, he’s perfectly equipped to help others take their first steps to recovery and to accompany them in healing. He gets it. Tim describes the terrifying situation which sculpted the rest of his life. He speaks about what it means to be courageously us and the immense importance of it. This is a soldier’s lessons with universal relevance. https://yourcommando.com/contact/ YouTube Channel ‘Commando in Your Corner': https://www.youtube.com/c/CommandoinyourCorner Transcript of Speech from ANZAC 2019, for a video of the speech please visit https://youtu.be/69XD8mFhis4 (speech starts at 3mins 20secs).
