This homily was given by visiting priest, Dominican Father W. Becket Soule, Ph.D., J.C.D. He is regarded as an expert in the history, theory and application of canon law, as well as in medieval Church history. Considering his expertise in the canon law of the churches of the Eastern Rite, Father Soule was named Promoter of Justice for the Eparchy of St. Maron. One of the most talented and proficient translators of Greek and Latin in the United States, Father Soule has assisted The Catholic University of America in Washington with the Fathers of the Church series and numerous other translations. He has served as lecturer in the Canon Law Department at Catholic University and the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C. ,Oxford University in England, the University of Cambridge, and the Pontifical College Josephinum, Ohio. Father Soule also served as the Administrator at St John The Evangelist Catholic Parish, Waynesville, North Carolina. He currently is a professor at Saint Paul University in Ottawa, Canada.
