What can we do about our short attention spans?

from RNZ - All Programmes

The average attention span these days lasts about as long as a TikTok video. We talk a lot about constant notifications and the urge to check emails pulling away our focus, but we spend much less time talking about what to do about it. Adam Clark Estes is a senior technology correspondent at Vox and says he's just as guilty of taking a task that should require an hour and finding 55 minutes of other things to do. Our brains have become accustomed to constant stimulation, but Estes argues technology isn't entirely to blame. Even the way we take breaks can work against us. He offers some practical ways to focus again in a piece for Vox called How to Rebuild Your Broken Attention Span.
