To better understand the social, spiritual and cultural realities of the people of El Salvador and to better serve people of Salvadoran descent in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, Lia Garcia and Father Austin Murphy were part of a recent pastoral visit to the Central American nation Jan. 25-30. Garcia is the director of Hispanic ministry for the Archdiocese of Baltimore and Father Murphy is pastor of Christ the King parish in Glen Burnie, a faith community with a fast-growing Hispanic population. They share insights learned on their pastoral visit to El Salvador.
