Pastor Tony’s message on Genesis 1:1-2:3 emphasized the power, intention, and grace of our Creator. He explained that Genesis is not a scientific manual but a declaration of God’s authority, written by Moses to give the Israelites confidence in God as they prepared to enter the Promised Land. God’s power is displayed in His creation of everything from nothing (ex nihilo), His intention is shown through the purposeful design of creation and humans as His image bearers (Imago Dei), and His grace is evident in the gift of rest and ultimately salvation through Christ. Tony urged the congregation to reflect on where they might be holding back trust in God and invited anyone who had not yet surrendered to Jesus to do so, trusting fully in the Creator who sustains and redeems.
