Whoever goes about slandering reveals secrets, but he who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a thing covered.” — Proverbs 11:12–13“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” — Psalm 23:4“To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so I stand here testifying both to small and great.” — Acts 26:22________________________________________You’ve probably heard the phrase, “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” Truth is, words can cut deep—and they often stick longer than we expect. In Proverbs 11:12–13, we're warned about gossip and tearing others down. It might feel harmless in the moment, but those careless words have weight. Meanwhile, Psalm 23 reminds us that even when we feel like we're walking through the darkest parts of life, God’s comfort and presence are with us. And in Acts 26, Paul stands strong in his testimony because of God’s help, sharing boldly even when it’s not popular. What do these all have in common? Whether we’re speaking, listening, or walking through tough times, how we use our words—and whose voice we listen to—matters deeply.________________________________________THINK ABOUT IT1. Words Have Power: Are your words building others up or breaking them down? Ask yourself: Would I say this if the person were standing right next to me?2. God Walks With You: Psalm 23 is a reminder that you're never alone—not in school, not at home, not even in your lowest moments. God is with you through every valley. How might that truth help you speak and act with more confidence and compassion?3. Speak Boldly, Like Paul: In Acts, Paul didn’t back down. He shared his story and what God had done in his life, even in front of powerful people.
