FEBRUARY 27 - Storm-Ready Wisdom3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 11:14–15; Acts 27________________________________________Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety. Whoever puts up security for a stranger will surely suffer harm, but he who hates striking hands in pledge is secure. — Proverbs 11:14–15Since they had been without food for a long time, Paul stood up among them and said, “Men, you should have listened to me... Yet now I urge you to take heart, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship.” — Acts 27:21–22________________________________________Have you ever been warned not to do something, ignored the advice, and then regretted it later? Maybe a friend told you not to text someone, or your parents told you to study more for a test. When we ignore good advice, we often end up in situations we could’ve avoided. In Proverbs 11, we’re reminded how important wise counsel is—it literally keeps us safe. And in Acts 27, Paul gives a real-life example. He warned the ship’s crew not to set sail, but they didn’t listen. The result? A brutal storm and a shipwreck. Still, God’s grace showed up—even in the middle of the mess.________________________________________THINK ABOUT IT1. Who’s in your circle? Are you surrounded by people who give wise, godly advice—or just people who tell you what you want to hear? The right voices matter.2. Don’t wait for the storm: Paul wasn’t trying to be a know-it-all; he had spiritual insight. God often gives us warnings through His Word and through others—are you paying attention before things go off course?3. God shows up in the storm: Even when we make bad choices or ignore wisdom, God doesn’t abandon us. Like Paul told the crew, take heart—God is still in control and can bring hope from wreckage.________________________________________BOTTOM LINEListening to wise counsel can protect you from unnecessary pain—but even when you mess up, God’s presence is your anchor in any storm.________________________________________PRAYERHeavenly Father, thank You for placing wise people in my life and for always guiding me through Your Word. Help me to listen before I leap, and to trust You even when I find myself in storms of my own making. Teach me to value Your voice above all others and to find hope in Your promises, no matter what I’m facing. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
