FEBRUARY 9 - Wise Words and a Willing Heart3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 10:13–14; Acts 9________________________________________“On the lips of him who has understanding, wisdom is found… The wise lay up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool brings ruin near.” — Proverbs 10:13–14“But the Lord said to him, ‘Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel.’” — Acts 9:15________________________________________Have you ever said something and immediately regretted it? Maybe it was something harsh, sarcastic, or just completely wrong. Words are powerful—and so is the heart behind them. In Proverbs 10, we see that wise people are careful with their words, but foolish words can lead to destruction. In Acts 9, we meet Saul (who becomes Paul), a guy whose words and actions were destroying lives—literally—until God changed his heart. God saw something in Saul that no one else did: a heart that could be used for His glory. It’s a powerful reminder that God isn’t just listening to our words—He’s also shaping our hearts to match His mission.________________________________________THINK ABOUT IT1. Wise Words Matter: What kind of words are coming out of your mouth? Are they helpful, kind, or encouraging? Proverbs says wisdom shows up in what we say.2. God Can Use Anyone: Saul was the last person people expected God to use. But God sees potential in people the world might overlook. Who do you think God might be calling you to become?3. Be Willing to Change: Saul had a dramatic encounter with Jesus that completely changed his life. You may not have a blinding-light moment, but are you open to God shaping your story?________________________________________BOTTOM LINEGod values both wise words and willing hearts. When we speak with wisdom and let God lead our lives—even if we’ve messed up—He can use us for incredible things.________________________________________PRAYERHeavenly Father, thank You for giving us wisdom through Your Word and for seeing the potential in us even when others don’t. Help me to speak with love and live with a heart that’s open to Your calling. Change me where I need to grow, and use me for Your purpose. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
