Federal judge dismisses Trump DOJ suit seeking New Jersey voter data

from KYW Newsradio Audio On-Demand

A federal judge has dismissed a Trump administration suit seeking access to New Jersey’s voter data. The judge says the Justice Department cannot compel the state to disclose its voter data. Attorney General Jennifer Davenport says her office celebrates the court's decision, noting that every court has rejected similar requests from the DOJ. The Trump administration renewed its request after the state discovered 6,600 noncitizens on its voter rolls. About 400 of them actually voted. It's unclear if the Justice Department will appeal the decision at this time. (Photo: Eduardo Munoz Alvarez/Getty Images)
