At virtual briefing, Dr. Theresa Tam, Canada’s chief public health officer, and Dr. Howard Njoo, deputy chief public health officer, join federal ministers Patty Hajdu (health), Anita Anand (procurement) and Dominic LeBlanc (intergovernmental affairs) to provide an update on the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. They outline guidelines for a progressive reopening as vaccinations ramps up during the summer, which will allow people to attend small outdoor gatherings. As people receive their second doses ahead of the fall, indoor gatherings will then be allowed.
