Federal Reserves September 2020 Meeting EXPLAINED

Send us Fan MailIn this episode on Latinos in Real Estate Investing Podcast Martin and Mark discuss the the details of what the federal reserve Jerome Powell had to say about the economy interest rates and what they are willing to do to keep the economy healthy and strong. Many years ago one of my mentors said to me when you ever hear about th e federal reserves having a meeting specially when it comes to interest rates you better pay attention as interest rates always affect the Real Estate market. So for starters Fed Chairman Jerome Powell said that there is considerable risk to our economy in the next 2-3 years and that they expect to keep interest rates at zero percent through 2023. Now thats great news for us Investors as this will keep the buyers in the market. The downside is that it can keep pushing prices higher and higher and when there is a correction the fall will be harder. That also makes finding good deals a bit more challenging when so many people in the streets are overpaying for Real Estate. Remember a property is worth what someone is willing to pay for it and when their is a shortage of inventory with low interest rates it pushes prices higher and higher. Mr. Powell also said that support will remain for our economy until we are far along in the recovery but he didn't specify what far along in the recovery means. An important point Mr. Powell bought up was when he stated if we don't see another stimulus package their will be considerable downside risk that will lead to evictions & foreclosures and badly scar our economy. This is just a few of the points that we cover in this episode. Keep in mind that as investors we need to keep watching what the feds are doing in order to move accordingly in our investments.
