Feed me, open my eyes. Feed me, conquer the lies.

In 1989, I had been back in Colorado for about a year. And I was in my little apartment, B17 (yeah, like the old Olivia Newton-John song), listening to the cool variety of music on FM station, KBCO. Because they had this segment they called “Home Grown.” And I had sent a song of mine in to them. But they didn’t send out advance notice if and when your song was chosen. So, that’s how they got you to tune in regularly. Well, at least if you were one of the songwriters who sent in music. Like I did with my song, Feed Me. My music fit right in with their wide variety of styles at the time. And to their credit, the people in charge of choosing which songs were played on the KBCO segment, picked good stuff. And yes, I’d say that even if they hadn’t played my song. But they DID play my song. And, as any songwriter who’s experienced it, hearing your song on the radio never gets old. So, as it turns out, I still have that song. And when you tune in to the The Power of God’s Love Podcast, you can hear it. But if you’d rather just read they lyrics and skip the song (And why would you do that?)… Here they are… I don’t wanna leave this moment. I don’t wanna get to the future. And I don’t wanna find out I was wrong. I just wanna be successful. And I don’t wanna be a failure. I want more of what can keep me strong. If I leave it up to you, will you show me what to do. I don’t wanna be alone now. And I don’t wanna live in a dark cloud. I need to know the light is just ahead. I don’t wanna be an old man, But I don’t wanna be a young man. I just wanna be me till I’m fed. If I leave it up to you, will you show me what to do.
