Feeding of the 5,000

This text combines the death of John the Baptist, the return of the disciples from their first mission, and a failed attempt at a restful getaway. Yet, in all of this we see Jesus’ character shine through as he continues to serve others. We also see Jesus as the greatmultiplier, taking the meager resources of the disciples, breaking them, and using them to be the hands and feet of his blessing.
