Feet, Hormones and Pelvic floor (Dogs barking, pissy pants and grey pubes)

from The Private Parts of Wellness · host Jessica Jolie B. the NP

This short and sweet off-the-cuff, from-the-hip episode is all about feet and estrogen, and the pelvic floor. So really a little about a lot. Special guest my husband who chimes in on the benefits of Low Pressure Fitness. Me, practicing LPF on IG “Squatting isn't good for your pelvic floor.” Correction squatting is excellent for the pelvic floor except when you are peeing. The pee is trying to drop it like it’s hot, and you are trying to keep it all together while you hover over the bowl, that's what's not good for your pelvic floor.  Low-pressure fitness example. There is opportunity for personal growth and transformation in this journey, but it is essential to be equipped with information about the process, and access to mind-body tools that work for you. This 2-day gathering is an opportunity for deep and embodied exploration of menopause in a community of peers guided by menopause healthcare providers who are also skilled in somatic approaches to mind-body integration. The menopause transition brings with it specific physical and psychosocial challenges for those who identify as women. We will hold sacred space to share and process the particular experiences of those who identify with the cultural experience of being a woman in the menopause transition at this moment in time. Together we will explore both the physiology of the menopause transition and evidence-based approaches to menopause symptom management, as well as somatic tools for pleasure activation and connection with the body. We will use the modalities of breathwork, movement, and conscious kink (specifically, shibari, Japanese-inspired rope bondage) as an exploration towards listening to and befriending your ever-changing body. Our time together will include learning with storytelling facilitated group discussion, guided breathwork, functional movement, and beginner shibari self-tying practice.
