Felony charges for a deadly, multi-vehicle crash in Orland Park

​The charges against Prakash Patel of Orland Park include Reckless Homicide and two counts of Aggravated Reckless Driving. He also faces 14 additional traffic violations of the Illinois Vehicle Code. ​Orland Park Police say on June 29th, Patel was driving fast when he crashed into three vehicles at 149th Street and LaGrange Road. One of those vehicles struck a 66-year-old male pedestrian waiting at a bus stop. He died at the scene. After an investigation, Orland Park Police arrested Patel on August 19th without incident.
