Female Videographers in a Male Dominated Industry

In today's episode I welcome the incredible Lisa O' Donohue, an amazing solo videographer who specialises in weddings and family videos. ‘Based in Dubai, Lisa O’Donohue is a filmmaker who travels worldwide capturing luxury and timeless stories on film for private clients. Telling stories through the lens of both digital and analog (Super 8) film, Lisa’s films are story-driven and made to invoke a feeling of nostalgia for the client.’⁠ Lisa shares a little bit about her early love for the film world which brought her to major in film production and eventually lead her to own her business. There's never a perfect time to take the first step towards your dream career, Lisa shares how it took losing her marketing job in Dubai to finally take the plunge. In recent years we have witnessed a shift in the number of women taking up videography, although it is still a male dominated industry, Lisa talks about the support and empowerment she has encountered from male videographers in the industry.
