The award-winning vocalist, piano player, songwriter, and WWOZ radio host grew up in the Caribbean community in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, singing in the Seventh Day Adventist church. After years spent in New York and Europe recording jingles and touring with other artists, she relocated to New Orleans to focus on her solo career.
