On March 27, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act was signed into law. Among other provisions, employers may now elect to delay payment of their federal payroll taxes, and delay the deposit and payment of their Social Security taxes. A week earlier, on March 18, Congress approved the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA). Effective April 1, the FFCRA gives American businesses with fewer than 500 employees funds to provide COVID-19-impacted employees with paid leave, among other provisions. ​ What can your organization do today to ensure compliance?
