Fibre Artist Erin Suliak

Based in her birthplace of Yellowknife, NWT Canada, Erin Suliak is a multi-disciplinary artist. Her creative practice includes visual arts and performance. Current fields of inquiry include textile art and fine craft, modern quiltmaking and sculpture. Her work often incorporates found and reclaimed materials and reflect on her northern birthplace, memory, and home. Erin’s artwork has been acquired and supported by the Yellowknife Heritage Committee, NWT Arts Council, and the INAC - Contaminants and Remediation Directorate 'Artists on Site' program. Her work has also been published in the journal Curated Quilts, and her quilts have been juried into international quilt shows. Erin talks about how used textiles aren't just supplies they’re stories, with history that add layers of meaning and unexpected creativity to her work and so much more.
