"It's wonderful being able to routinely record here without any sort of noise pollution. In order to have one square inch of natural silence, you need a thousand square miles around you, roughly fifteen miles of silence in any direction. It's really rare to find places that have natural silence."Thomas Rex Beverly is a field recordist and composer exploring our evolving planet. His mission is to preserve endangered environments through sound in order to raise awareness and inspire people to protect unique acoustic ecosystems. Thomas unites his love of field recording, composition and acoustic ecology in two ways: conserving natural places of solitude in sound libraries and by incorporating field recordings and weather data into his music compositions.
