Fifteen NZ restaurants awarded Michelin stars

Fifteen New Zealand restaurants now hold a coveted Michelin star, with one Queenstown restaurant being awarded two stars at a glitzy ceremony in Auckland last night. Undercover inspectors for the Michelin Guide have been secretly visiting restaurants in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown for almost a year. 110 eateries made it into the guide, with Michelin saying it's rare to award so many stars in a country's inaugural launch.
