"Fight and Hold Tight"

July 29, 2024 Daily Devotion: "Fight and Hold Tight" 1 Timothy 6:11-12 New International Version 11 But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. We are called like Timothy to the life God has for us. This great call comes with great responsibility, and it means we have to put forth some effort. We’ll have to run from evil things – literally turn and move away from things that aren’t of God. We’re called to actively be in pursuit of righteousness, faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. We’re commanded to fight for true faith, defend what is rightfully ours, and protect the promises of God. Fighting is hard, but God knows it’s worthy. We must determine in our hearts to run, pursue, fight, and hold tight. Eternal life is in the balance and witnesses are watching.
