Fight Business Podcast #19: Jon Nutt talks Fight Circus Vol. 2 ahead of return this weekend

from Fight Business Podcast · host Patrick Auger

Jon Nutt is back on The Fight Business Podcast and this time he and Patrick Auger discuss everything and anything to do with Fight Circus Vol. 2 before it takes place this Sunday morning Sunday, Nov. 22 in Bangkok, Thailand (and airs live on CamSoda on Saturday night in the US).  Fight Circus captured the attention of many combat sports fans in August when the event featured wacky matchups including 2 vs. 1 fights, big fighters vs. small fighters, and all kinds of unusual matchups. The event was marketed as "not your average fight card" and that rings especially true for Fight Circus Vol. 2. Nutt explains that the first event was a "major success" and they're expecting a similar result this time, too.  Nutt says he's not "reinventing the wheel or anything," but explains that no other fight promotion is playing the comedy angle in the same way that Fight Circus is. No other promotion can claim to be the Saturday Night Live version of the UFC and that's a comparison that Nutt and Fight Circus would gladly welcome.  In this podcast, Nutt also responds to recent criticism from MMA legends Bas Rutten and Cung Le that was featured in a video by Andrew Whitelaw.   Nutt assures Rutten and anyone else with concerns that, "if there's anybody in the world that's going to be able to do this show, it's me."
