Fight Fair

As we continue in our marriage teaching series, You. Me. We., Pastor Scotty Priest emphasizes how to fight fair. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh, Genesis 2:24. Relationships are a lifetime process that require work. In times of conflict, I will fight for unity, not for personal victory because I don't win if we lose. We all bring in to a relationship our box of hopes, dreams and desires and we place them on our spouse in the basket of expectations. But what we really need is God to fill us up, we need a relationship with God to meet our deepest needs, so that marriage can fill in all the rest of the gaps. A companion in life that can chase after the will of God together.
