Fight for Cash
from Dave Bradley · host Dave Bradley
This little ditty started off as an attempt to write a kind of pastiche of The Police, but once I'd mixed up the reggae drum loops it really didn't sound like either...the words I'd been thinking of were to do with standing up to oppressors but I ad libbed some new ones to try and get a melody and somehow ended up singing about Johnny Cash...go figure... Stand up and fight, fight for cash I walk the line, like the man who's name was Cash But I can't find The words to tell the story like he can I feel so fine, Like the man who's name was Sue I walk that line but feeling blue Burning light, waking like a fire And rolling On a wave of empty desire
