Fight Hunger with Grocery Outlet's Independence From Hunger Food Drive!

Aired July 16, 2023: Lisa Foxx chats with Layla Kasha, the SVP, Chief Marketing & New Stores Growth Officer for Grocery Outlet Bargain Market stores about their annual Independence from Hunger food drive. It's going on now thru the end of July.For 77 years, Grocery Outlet has been committed to giving back to local community organizations and their annual ‘Independence From Hunger’ food drive is one of the many ways they give back year-round. Since they launched the food drive, back in 2011, the Independence from Hunger campaign efforts have collected nearly $16.5 million dollars nationwide to help feed those in need in local communities. The campaign will collect cash donations and pre-made bags of nonperishable foods in-store at Grocery Outlet’s 450 locations that will be distributed to local food agencies partners. With the ongoing inflation, families continue to turn to food banks as 34 million people in the United States are currently food insecure.
