Fight The Devil But Run From Your Ex
from Mission Sent Hosted by Mission Church
Send us Fan Mail Jesus doesn’t let us downgrade lust into “no big deal.” He calls it what it is: adultery of the heart, a desire problem that eventually becomes a life problem. That’s a heavy word, but it’s also a hopeful one, because it means God isn’t only interested in polishing our behavior. He’s after healing what’s underneath. We walk through Matthew 5:27–30 and the uncomfortable logic of the Sermon on the Mount: you can avoid the outward act and still be enslaved inwardly. From David and Bathsheba to Paul’s warning to flee sexual immorality, we trace how temptation usually works in real life. It rarely starts with a catastrophic decision. It starts with the second look, the private scroll, the hidden habit, and the proud belief that “I got this.” We also talk about the world we’re living in now: sexualized content is baked into social media, ads, entertainment, and everyday scrolling, which makes spiritual numbness feel normal. Then we get practical. Jesus’ “tear it out and throw it away” language pushes us toward ruthless honesty and real guardrails: cutting off access, adding accountability, and building roadblocks before the next step becomes easier. We discuss tools like Covenant Eyes, the wisdom of transparency in marriage, and why shame-based purity messages miss the point of the gospel. The final word isn’t condemnation, it’s grace: Jesus already paid, and repentance can look like one clear decision to do different today. If this hit close to home, listen, share it with someone you trust, and subscribe for more Bible-centered conversations. After you listen, what boundary or accountability step are you willing to take this week? https://www.facebook.com/MissionSentDeltona https://www.missionsent.org/resources
