Fight, Week 1: The Fight for Vision

But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved. Hebrews 10:39 (NIV) Message Title: The FIGHT for Vision Where there is no vision, the people perish… Proverbs 29:18 (KJV) Write down the vision; write it clearly on clay tablets so whoever reads it can run to tell others. Habakkuk 2:2 (NCV) They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything?” Mark 8:22-26 (NIV) He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.” Mark 8:22-26 (NIV) Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. Jesus sent him home, saying, “Don’t even go into the village.” Mark 8:22-26 (NIV) RELATIONSHIPS You will never rise above the level of the relationships in your life. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds… Hebrews 10:24 (NIV) FAITH If we view God through the lens of “I want it now” we are going to find ourselves very frustrated. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised. Hebrews 6:12 (NIV) We want a moment… God wants a journey. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:9 (NLT) The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it. 1 Thessalonians 5:24 (NIV) AUTHENTICITY So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. Hebrews 4:16 (NLT) Freedom comes from being honest with your struggles. OBEDIENCE Be careful that you do not refuse to listen to the One who is speaking. Hebrews 12:25 (NLT) When we lose vision… it doesn’t mean that God does. Do what we SHOULD do. Do what we COULD do. To do what we WOULD do.
