In Episode 23 of Fika with Vicky, host Victoria Young Bennison discusses being a Wannabe Author. With a computer full of unfinished novels and series, a collection of short stories that she self published and then grabbed back to revise, (spoiler alert, she’s never revised it) and a lifetime of saying she wants to be a writer, Vicky is the perfect example of a Wannabe Author, but she knows she isn’t alone. There are others out there like her. And this is for them, and encouraging their dreams to come true. Her latest Work in Progress (WIP), A Thirty Year Detour, is the story of a woman who decides to finish a road trip across Canada which began…you guessed it, thirty years ago. Does she still have the courage to go solo, ignore those who try to discourage her, and fulfill her dream? Does Vicky still have the courage to finish this story? A Thirty Year Detour will be offered up as a working example of finally getting a book done and out there. She promised herself that she would have it out in the world by her birthday. With time running out she’s decided there’s more than one way to get a book out in the world.
