Filipino Community Gives Back to Shannon with Community Clean-Up

Shannon has long been known as a welcoming and diverse town, and that community spirit was on full display recently when members of the local Filipino community rolled up their sleeves to give something back.   Forty-two volunteers joined Shannon Tidy Towns for a clean-up and weeding project along the road from Ballycasey Roundabout towards Shannon Airport, as a way of thanking the town for the welcome, employment opportunities and new lives they've found here.  Joining Alan Morrissey earlier to tell us more were the Chair of Shannon Tidy Towns, Derek Clune, along with Paz Maglague, a member of Shannon's Filipino community who took part in the initiative.
